In October, we were thrilled to receive the Ethics in Action Award for Environmental Excellence. The BC Ethics in Action Society celebrates businesses and business leaders in British Columbia who are building new corporate models that balance principle and profits. Ethics in Action recognizes companies that demonstrate Corporate Social Responsibility by "triple bottom line" thinking. This means that each nominee must go beyond the financial bottom line to demonstrate significant initiatives to benefit the community socially and environmentally.

In November, we were surprised to receive another award. The CRD EcoStar Awards were developed by the Capital Regional District and community sponsors in the year 2000, to recognize the commitment and contributions of individuals, organizations, groups and businesses to our environment. Recipients must incorporate environmental and social aspects in their business strategies. The three finalists for this award were Habitat for Humanity's Re-store, and Sooke Harbour House, and Elite Earth-friendly Cleaners. We were ecstatic to be included in such stellar company as a finalist, and absolutely amazed to win the 2005 CRD Ecostar Award for Sustainability.
