BEDDING Down Duvets, Sleeping Bags and Feather Beds
Our system
has a special program for down duvets and feather beds. An initial
pre-moistening, then a fast extract gets rid of all the
air in the duvet, allowing water, citrus and enzyme soaps to penetrate
into the down and give it a really good cleaning. Blasts of steam
throughout the 90 minute cleaning cycle bring the temperature up
high enough to kill mites and other critters that like to live in
down.
It takes a few days for us to clean a down duvet (or a feather
bed) because we dry it several times (for hours), hanging it in our
hot
boiler room overnight between dryings. The biggest problem with cleaning
down is getting it dried well enough – if it isn't absolutely
dry, it provides a great medium for mildews, molds and fungi, inviting these
allergens to set up house.
If your down duvet has old stains, these
are unlikely to come out completely with any type of cleaning – but
you can rest assured that with our process, stains will likely lighten
and your duvet
will be clean and sanitary.
Silk Duvets
These wonderful duvets keep you warm in the
winter and cool in the summer, but, like all silks, they require
special care. If your duvet
is silk inside, please let us know – we can’t tell by
looking at the outside unless the care label is intact.
Woolen blankets and woolen mattress pads
Woolen blankets love
to absorb odours. Our deep cleaning penetrates the fibres to freshen
up your woolen blankets and make them soft,
supple and cozier than ever. Mattress pads come out clean, soft and
fluffy.
Formal wear
Evening gowns, grad dresses, fancy blouses,
and formal wear of all descriptions will exceed your expectations.
No need to sign a waiver
for beads and sequins: our solvent-free system will not damage these.
Sometimes, however, if beads are glued on rather than sewed, these
may release during our process. Since we have no way of knowing what
type of glue the manufacturer has used, unfortunately, we can’t
accept responsibility for glues that let go.
Tuxes and tails, particularly whites, come out brilliantly clean
with our system.
Business and casual wear
From Armani suits to beachwear, we clean it
all! Here’s what
some of our customers have to say about our service:
Wool coats
We take special pride in returning woolen coats
to their best possible condition. We groom and brush each coat,
removing pilling and lint
and fluffing up the pile. Since woolens absorb and retain regular
drycleaning solvent, you may be used to the harsh chemical smell
that lingers after cleaning. You’ll be amazed at the difference:
your coat will smell clean and fresh, will feel soft and will look
stunning!
Silks and rayons
Silks and rayons require special care, and we
have a special program for cleaning these high-maintenance items.
In some instances, there
may be a risk to cleaning a silk or rayon article. If we identify
your garment as a high risk item, we’ll warn you of that and
may in rare circumstances suggest you take it to a solvent-based
cleaner. (We’ll recommend a cleaner that uses a hydrocarbon
system, a less toxic system than regular drycleaning solvent.)
Linens
Linens love our system! For spectacular results, bring us your linens!
Down Outerwear
Similar to our down duvet program, your down
outerwear will get completely penetrated with citrus and enzyme
cleaners and water in
a super-hot cycle for deep-down cleaning. We’ll dry it for
several hours and hang it overnight in our hot drying room, then
dry it again the next day.
